In our 'Illiterate TV journos' (March 13) post, we suggested: But why do not public-spirited media like TV9 turn the cameras on themselves? TV9 did just the same on Thursday, a sting-op within its office and caught its Chief News Coordinator Rajasekhar accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000. The management summarily dismissed him. Subsequent probing is said to have shown that Raja had Rs 14 lakh in his bank account.
The three-year-old news channel’s sting op on its staffer is unprecedented in apmedia history.
After completing its first-of-its-kind mission, the management enthusiastically circulated the news about this shameful incident among the media personnel. Naturally, the extreme action-excessive enthusiasm sequence has raised doubts among the media fraternity. Many believe that there is more to this than meets the eye. Some insiders link the latest development to the recent “attack on media” incident at MNR College.
Immediate comments heard among mediamen include 1)Why was Rajasekhar subjected to such extreme action, it reeks of vengeance and not punishment 2) Why is that the management that let off Karim lightly acted so harshly in Rajasekhar's case? 3) Did TV9 take the public and media fraternity for a ride with its hulllabaloo over the "attack" on its staff?

It's shameful on the part of scribes' fraternity. I feel it is need of the hour for channels to realise what the cream they are taking in. We should appreciate Mr RAvi Prakash for the in-house daring operation. It is an eye-opener for the forthcoming channels too. We should cleanse our parts well before purifying the society.
There are some people joining the media only to become rich using their little talent. In a scene in the just released film "Jagadam", a scribe is offered "prasadam" for his help writing an artcile in favour of a goon. That's the state of affairs of media people.
Anyway, we call it as a beginning for cleansing itself.
TV9 Chief News Coordinator Rajshekar is known for his excellent work and integrity ever since he entered into journalism field.
This is a very cruel act by some jealous people/back stabbers who want to tarnish his image seeing his going popularity.
TRUTH WILL TAKE ITS OWN COURSE OF ACTION VERY SOON.

Sacking of Kareems and Rajasekhars only exemplied how gullible TV9 is for such affairs. People like Kareem and Rajasekhar should not be given jobs anywhere.

am writing in context of Rajshekar's episode yesterday at TV9.
I know him personally for the last 10 years and he is extremely hard working and effecient at work. He never took advantage or misused his official position at TV9 or before at ETV. Making such baseless allegations against an honest journalist is a blotch on the entire media.
He is the back bone of TV9 and worked relentelessly day & night for its growth and within a short span of time reached senior position.Some unscrupulous elements have made him a scape goat in yesterdays episode. Professional jealousy is agreeable both in Private and Public offices nowadays competitive world but falling to such levels cannot be telerated. This is a very sad thing to know. Professionalism in journalism is being put to utmost shame by these kind of unfamiliar incidents.
I humbly request you to condemn this heinous action against Rajshekar and support him during this troubled times.
Pls. pass this message to all your fellow journalists,reporters,bureau heads,editors etc in Hyderabad and other places all over India and make sure that Rajshekar is given a clean chit

This is a good development. The trend to self-examine and self-criticise should continue. This will rid the media of all kinds of unscrupulous elements who are out to make a fast buck by using the name of the media. TV 9 has also been in the forefront of exposing the bad elements in society. It should continue its mission and should not succumb to pressures. The latest programme Naveena has been a great success. TV9 should come out with these kind of the socially sensitive programmes which will initiate a health debate on various problems confronting the various segments of the society. The name of the ombudsman mentioned by RP of TV9 must be A.S. and not J.S.
Mr. Alapati Suresh recently joined TV9 and his role is to replace both Karim and Rajasekhar on one hand and to train the new comers on the other. Hence Suresh must be mentioned as A.S. and someone must have overheard as J.S.
Since he is from APUWJ and the appointment is blessed by AMAR, those who work for the Union will be spared and those who r against will be sacked soon.

I've known Mr.Ravi Prakash and Mr.Rajashekhar for years together now. Both are zealots who have espoused the cause of public spirited journalism—all for the good of changing society. As a team they have tried their level best to get (barring some overkill) to the root of the problems that the society is beset with and in the process reflect/expose people and institutions for their discredits.
It is amazing that a sting operation was internalized by the TV9 to expose a colleague for his wrongdoings. I am pained no end (as I have seen him very closely both as a student and professional colleague) by the “Rajashekhar’s episode”. Is it a classic case of sending clear signals to the staffers of “dire consequences” using Rajashekhar as an alibi? Or is it corporate game of one up man ship??? Where Rajashekhar is made a scapegoat??? Time will unfold the story.
in tv9 website there is a name appearing as chief news co-ordinator i.e jagan mohan reddy. who is he. what is his experience in electronic media. is this a temporary appointment? at this time mr.rp is taking care?

Hello Friends some one said that 'daal me kuch kaala hai' it is correct because.the so called great Journalist Mr RP has a mentality that if any one goes againest to him He will not leave him.some of his close assocites say this.it seems Mr Rajashekar was about to join at NTV naturally so many of TV9 staff will follow him.I think that is why Mr RP made this all. I am not supporting Rajashekar.But we sould also think in this way.can RP give clean chit to his so called Sr Reporters who are in Hyderabad beaure and in District ? for Even Himself ?

The sting operation news of Mr. Rajshekar, Bureau Chief of TV 9 came as surprise and jolt. Whether he is corrupt or honest we don't know, but it is alarming and dusturbing. One thing is certain, the corruption in Indian Media more worse than Indian politics. In a recent survey findings these things were revealed. Better media must be careful, before they talk corruption in society.
TV 9 did a commendable job in sensitising people about issues around them. At the same it has also lost its credibility in terms content as well as overs sensationalising the same. Offlate, it is murmered in the fraternity that it has become a place for corrupt journos. It is better they clean up internally rather than talk much about corruption free society

Well before RS resignation exit from TV9 on the day of incident occured i.e 22nd March, the news spread like wild fire among the jounalist community that RS was dismissed at 11am in Hyd. Whereas RS was summoned by RP at 1pm and was asked for justification in front of sr.mngt and then RS RESIGNED.
Looks like the conspiracy has been hatched and enacted succefully!!!!
