Jayanth acts on Sayesekhar

It's not often that earthshaking events happen at the sedate Hindu. Today was an exception. Sayesekhar, the Vijayawada Bureau Chief, has been transferred to Hyderabad and reportedly given the BJP beat. And everyone is talking about it, mostly happy at the development. Sayesekhar joined the Hindu as a Star Reporter from Deccan Chronicle and had a meteoric rise in Hindu. He got a double promotion for himself and ensured better hikes and promotions to his team, reason why many envied him. (Remember the invidious HR practices we discussed in "Parochial Ways of India's National Newspaper"?). The team, however, was unhappy at his way of treating them and were relieved when Jayanth promised "light at the end of tunnel" to them after his visit to Vijayawada to conduct an enquiry. Jayanth has kept his promise now. Interestingly, Srimali, with about five years of experience and considered close to chiefs in Hyderabad, will take charge at Vijayawada. Good luck to him. Hope his rise will not make him the envied. Will Saye come to Hyderabad and work with the chief with whom his relationship is anything but cordial? Let's see.

Shifting of Sayesekar has proved that Mr Vikram is wrong in treating Hindu as a Mahavishnu. Isn't it showing that Hindu is also following TOI and DC way. Good look to Srimali.

See..See...See..
One more arrogant boss has fallen from the upstairs. AP media’s history has full of such characters and chapters with a sad end. MP Rajgopal is the saddest and News Editor Kurien is the happiest soul now. People at The Hindu’s Vijayawada bureau..THREE CHEERS.

I wish students who aspire to become journalists read the blog so that can have a fair idea of whats going on in the industry. All that has appeared so far gives a clear indication that only Lickers suceed, the real talented, serious old school journalists continue to suffer. God save the profession.

Vikram,
Write something about the Chief Photographer at The Hindu, who has been imported from Chennai. He makes the lives of people a hell and shouts at journallists with his broken English.

It seems Vijayawada is a punishment destination for journalists... especially English.

I heard it is a hell to work even in Express Vijayawada, where u find cold greetings from colleagues, a reluctant grin from the boss and a hostile environment.

Good luck to Srimali on his new assignment. Five years young in the profession is taken normally as inexperienced, but he is also fresh in mind and thought and also free from stereotypes. I think it can help him. Good luck...
