Undemocratic Naidu undermines institutions

In 'The Kamma-Reddy dogfight' post, we said the Margadarsi episode is set to be a decisive battle in the war between the two castes and that a weakened Ramoji would mark the end of Chandrababu Naidu and his party. Indeed, Naidu has heard the crack of doom! Panicked by RBI's whip on Margadarsi, Naidu charged the RBI of being partisan and sought to attribute motives to it.

This is the second time that Naidu has faulted institutions of democracy because their actions were detrimental to his ends! In the 90s, soon after he usurped power from dad-in-law NTR, Naidu fumed over the unimpeachable CEC T N Seshan's directive to political parties to hold internal elections. On that occasion, Naidu had Shiv Senas's Bal Thackeray for company. This time around, he is a loner. After initial show of solidarity with Ramoji, all the Raghavulu-s, Venkiah Naidu-s and the like realised their folly and understood that silence is gold. Even Ramoji's brainchild Lok Satta's JP had to eat humble pie. But Naidu has only become more aggressive in supporting hot potato Ramoji. Is that a wise move? Looks like Naidu is too lost in the battle for survival to weigh the merits of his moves.

Wages of copy editing!
When the going gets tough, the tough find a scapegoat! Poor people, those Eenadu employees… till the other day they were an envied lot among Telugu journalists… Big organization, higher salaries.. paid promptly, least exploited, better working environs, and more! (at least they thinks so). Today, they are dazed and apprehensive! The Undavalli bombshell denied them a Ramoji B-Day Bonus and worse, the recent rapid chain of events has them in jitters. What if Eenadu is sold?… What if the organization retrenches people..? and many more what ifs…? None is happy over the current uncertainty and the desk guys have found a couple to blame for all the trouble… the two young copy-editors who embellished the Peddala-Gaddala story. When it appeared, the story was the single most explosive media report in recent years and everyone patted the duo. Today, Peaddala — Gaddala is seen to be the report that landed the Group in dire straits. And all are blaming the duo for being too good at their job!

What do you mean being sold ? According today's issue of The Times of India, the Eenadu group has sold 26% stake to US based private equity fund, the Blackstone group. The deal is worth US $ 150 million. (That is about 700 cr).
With that, the old man will pay back most of his depositors in Margadarsi and convert it into a Bank. And people will again go and deposit money. We will all end up looking like fools.

Buddies,
Ramoji is down but not out. I foresee no threat to Eenadu right now. It depends on how his opponents lay a trap for him and how fast the YS & Co tightens the noose.
My hunch is that Ramoji’s troubles started with the demise of the all-time great teacher Boodaraaju Radhakrishna, who manufactured a good number of journalists in Ramoji’s shop.. called Eenadu Journalism School.
The media baron allegedly didn’t pay his last respects to Boora, a great litigant master. Known for his “witch hunt,” BR might be “blessing his former comrade” from heavens. BR! Pardon the sinners..Let people lead a peaceful life, omen

Hey man! Gimme a break. If it's Kamma Reddy battle, How come kammas like Radhakrishna stood against Ramoji? He may be an athiest, but Ravi Prakash is a kamma. This is not a caste battle. It's a thrust for the truth.

we explained (Sunday Musings Nov 19 post) why Ravi Prakash and Vemuri focused heavily on the Margadarsi news. Please check and tell us if you still disagree with us. Vemuri benefited, as already mentioned, and news is in that the gain is impressive. await info on that. -- Vikram

Great Andhra.com says CM's office want to take revenge on Radha after the byelections. Radha did this for circulation. Ravi supporting Congi and bashing Ramoji for an SEZ promoted by Ravireddy and Rajireddy is baseless. RP is known for his values. these rumours are spread by Eenadu jurnos when they wanted to retaliate.

I know Blackstone guys. They are different.I don't think the deal will go.I'm worried about etv2 guys.Unless Ramoji rises money from a different account they may loose their salary this month.

Undavalli episode exposed the dark side of Ramoji Rao. After the Undavalli episode, so many people are increasing becoming hatred against his Eenadu Paper and E-TV News TV. Because this paper and TV channel are just airing the biased views of Ramoji Rao. This will effect the circulation of Eenadu News Paper and viewership of E TV News. Good or bad most of the News paper readers are diverting to Andhra Jyothi News paper.

I can not believe that ex-CEO of Andhra Prades Chandra Babu Naidu is behaving such a way. More he supports the Margadarsi more he loses credibility. If Reddy-Khamma fight prevails, the chances of Chandra Babu Naidu becoming Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh are low, because Khamma population is low when compared to other castes reddy, BCs etc.

Who is this Vikaram yaar! He has some source in/about Eenadu but not a good one it seems. Ramoji never gave any B-day bonus to his employees, even on his Shastipoorthi. Then where is the scope for any fresh disappointment?

Dear MNR, that's what your colleagues need to realise. When hope is all that keeps you alive, logic flies out of the window!

MNR AND DNP!
WHAT DO YOU KNOW, HALF BACKED HEADS! THRIVE ON YOUR CASTE AND SACK GOOD JOURNALISTS, IF THEY DON'T SIDE WITH YOU. A DAY WILL COME BHAILOG, U WILL FACE PRABHAKAR'S AND RAMESH BABU'S FATE. ALREADY GADDAM SHARMA IS ON HIS WAY OUT AND OTHER CRUEL BOSSES ARE PAYING FOR THEIR SINS. YA, FORGOT ABOUT SUNDAY VARMA (A HORRIBLE MALLECHENDU).
DON'T THINK THAT YOU ARE RULING THE WORLD WITH THE HELP OF "BRAINY" KIRON. Vikram, THIS DUO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WOES OF MANY JOURNALISTS IN EENADU. THIS MNR CHAP MIGHT BE RIGHT HERE, BUT HE IS KNOW FOR TAKING "HIS OWN" PEOPLE UNDER HIS WINGS. ONCE A CONTRIBUTOR, D.N.PRASAD THINGS THAT HE IS NEXT TO MURDOCH.

Hang on! MNR is one of the few professionals left in the media. Better back up ur allegations with substantive proofs. Comment kottachu kada ani notiki edi vaste adi raste, meeru journalistslu ela avutaru? meerasalu journalistlu avvadame mana dourbhagyam.

Hoi..give it a break,
Go and ask anyone in Eenadu about how this MNR chap has been promoting a lady journalist (want me to name her?)at the cost of quality journalists. Its sheer caste that prompted him to back her up. One "Kesari" and another "Vadlamudi" left the Sunday magazine just because of this hi-headed female. Doesn't this so called professional know about the pathetic condition of seniors deprived of promotions? Ask any desk incharge about the performance of products from the EJS headed by MNR. This man may be a honest person but a worst professional, i swear.

Gumpulo Govindiah,
smart fellow! you were quite right about MNR and DNP. Do you know something? how DN has risen from a small time assistant in a company in Guntur to a contributor and then head of Eeenadu Tiupati unit? and how he had the brainy Kiron in his pocket, became his side-kick in hyderabad, and then began teaching what journalism is, to even senior journalists in Eenadu?
Going by my information, the present TTD chairman did some ground-breaking (bhoomi puja) service for Undavalli in the present Margadarsi embroglio while DN played along and still doing his bit to take this Undelu-debba to its logical end. Peddayana (Ramoji) should have known what material DN is made of, before he was elevated let alone offered a job in the key place. Kiron, are you listening?

I thought the Blackstone deal has already gone through. I think Ramoji would be better off as he will get money to pay salaries at least. How else can he raise funds?
