As the battle to land the rivals into trouble intensifies, more parties are entering the ring and identifying newer targtes. The latest target is a Hyderabad-based realtor-turned-hotelier whose fancy photographs we cannot help seeing everyday while on the city roads! Here's is a download on the untold behind-the-scenes developments.
It was supposed to be the master stroke of it all, but like a boomerang it has come home to torment the man who threw it. Raking up the land holding issue of Ramoji Rao is proving costly for politicians of the two main parties, Congress and TDP.
Assigned lands, which is at the centre of the row has become a hot topic of discussion in the political lobbies. Reports say that the Intelligence bosses tipped off YSR that Ramoji’s scribes were ferreting out information from his own backyard. A panicky YSR immediately acknowledged that his family had indeed violated the law of the land by buying not just assigned lands, but has been occupying government land as well. For the record, and to keep his slate clean, he said that he was returning the land back to the Andhra Pradesh government.
YSR’s unilateral move, coming a day before the Ranga Reddy district collector sent out notices to Ramoji Rao and his bete noire the Sanghis, has stumped many a political observer. Was YSR not aware of the fact that RR and team would dig into the CM’s family background and come up with all the dirt? Was he given bad advice to start with? Only time will tell. Predictably, the opposition parties have gone hammer and tongs at YSR, which in turn has led to the Congress opening up another flank at RR’s land holdings.
The problem is two fold for YSR. The district collector of Kadapa has to issue a notice to the man who is technically his indirect boss, asking him to explain why he should not be prosecuted. Knowing the quality of IAS officers that we have, it is unlikely that such a move will ever be contemplated. YSR did explain that some of the land was bought and registered in a family concern’s name by his father. The rest came in bits and pieces. But that is not the only problem.
Sources say that the BJP is now at work, digging out the assets of YSR’s son Jagan in Karnataka. In question is the sources of funding for the Rs 400-crore power project which was incidentally built by L&T, which the Congress had once accused of being hand in glove with Chandrababu Naidu.
Using its ministerial clout in the Kumaraswamy government, the saffron brigade is said to be looking into the role of a disgraced real estate baron turned club owner turned hotelier who has acquired assets worth crores not just in Karnataka but other states as well. The man in question was responsible for the collapse of two urban banks in Andhra Pradesh, and was lying low till YSR came back to power.
After having worked out a one-time settlement with the banks, the man who calls himself as YSR’s brother is said to be fronting for someone. He has been opening clubs all over the country from Chandigarh to Kovalam, at a break neck speed. How did he come to acquire these assets when he had declared himself as broke before the court of law? The BJP top brass is said to have put senior leader and Dy CM, B SYediyurappa to collate all the evidence. Now, that is a concern for the YSR family, which has been trying to distance himself from the publicity crazy man, who stares out to all and sundry from hoardings all over Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
This is not the last word in this battle of the lands. Watch this space. Tomorrow it may be the turn of Ramoji Rao to face the music.
PS: Real estate barons in and around Hyderabad who had bought hundreds of acres of assigned lands and sold them to unsuspecting buyers for crores are running scared. If the law is implemented in letter and spirit, the lands from Timmapur to Vikarabadand from Ibrahimpatnam to Shamirpet will revert back to the government. And with it will go bust the artificial land rates in and around twin cities. That will be blessing for the middle class citizens of the twin cities who wish to own a piece of land.

Extremely welldone story vikram. YSR's step may hurt himself. But as of now according to the information we received from Eenadu building.. atleast some key faces are jubilant there. For MNR, DNP and all their stuff KV it is a great relief now. Because as soon as this hulla bulla gets over, their actions will be out of scrutiny from the media circles. Particularly for general desk incharge there it is a festive occasion, who can come out from the music that he is facing from a month or so. Atleast temporarily all the Ramoji's misdeeds are sidelined. But everyone's surprise is how can YSR turned himself so suicidal? Did he forgot the political basics? Time has to reveal the reality.
Hhhaaa...Hhhaaaa.... Hhaaaa.... nobody, nobody in AP can atleast think of doing harm to the legendary Ramoji Rao. If not anyone atleast AP chief minister will advise so to everyone. HHHHHaaaa... Hhhaaaa... Hhhaaaa... You guyzs stop this anti ramoji blog. Learn lessons. Ramoji is unbeatable, unchallengable, UN VALUABLE.
GUY's
This is not un expected. YSR prepared for a final battle with Ramoji...seems whole family backed him.
one imp. thing to host...
that is Strategy...YSR Style...
even he is giving back his land, still it will under his control. coz...YSR own land is in the heart of said DKT PATTA LAND. after giving back to the same, YSR can enjoy the land un officially, as he has to pass the every time through those lands. so, GIVING BACK is just a drama...check up with any friend of VEMPALLY...CDP Dist.
hi.....u seemed to be a good "watchdog of politics and media"....fine job man....yes...its a self goal of YSR...BUT the fact....ALL POLITICIANS DID DIRTY THINGS AND HAVE UNLAWFUL BACKGROUNDS.....just the thing is that ....they are now revealing themselves...or caught by their own friends of jealous.
Good analysis. If YSR is serious, then his party colleagues may conspire to get him vacated from the hot seat.
YSR's move will make sense only when he issues a white paper on people holding surplus lands in Ranga Reddy district, for this is the first district in AP where land records were computerised under a central govt pilot project even before the IT bug bit Naidu.
Let us wait and watch. If YSR's moves are in the right direction and for a just cause, then real estate prices should show a steep decline, which I feel is good for the state's economy.
YSR is no fool. His decision to handover his lands at Vempally does seem to be a well thought out strategy. I fully endorse with the view that he wants to show a clean slate before going the whole-hog against Ramoji. As for the 618-acre issue, this hulla-balloo would not be there forever. And don't think Ramoji issue will get sidelined or he will have any respite. Most of the bigwigs in politics have illegal holdings and they will immediately get busy hiding their own tails as soon as it becomes too hot to handle. Once Ramoji is nailed to the wall for good, who will give a damn what happens to YSR' so-called surrendered lands? who will know for sure if they get reverted back to his family's hold?
The analogy of the petty thief might look trivial in the story, but I can spot an legal (or ethical)point here.
YSR's point that he cannot be punished since he was undoing a wrong can be used by thieves and criminals.
They can use the 'stolen' goods (it can be a car, for example) and after say, 10 years return it. They can then claim to be innocent as they had done a noble thing by returning what they had stolen.
hi frineds,
Some thing going wrong in the state... coz ysr is not at fool r mad to take such a decission by giving back his land which is occupied.. behind this step he took a strong decission that how he could sent ramoji to jail. yes this is true... now may be he is in defence but his thinking is so far from all people. before taking any action against ramoji he want to prove that he is a person with clean image... so in the state very soon we may watch some major issu.
Can someone here explain to people who do not belong to the 'press' as to which paper sides with which party?
My Understanding is (Pl. correct me if I am wrong):
Eenadu - TDP (It is a no brainer)
Andhra Jyothy - Godameeda Pilli but appers to be getting good govt ad revenue recently :-)
Vaartha - Of course Congress, but it seems Sanghi's own interests are more important. This paper has 'bania' character
DC /Andhra Bhoomi - Appears congie.. but some how looks hesitant - someone is more bothered about cigars and rubbing shoulders with 'high society' ladies in Hyderabad Race Club.. than running a news paper :-)
Andhra Prabha - This paper looks more and more like a Congress Pamphlet now-a-days - Is any one reading this at all?
