When's being Alone Lonely

It is perhaps an understatement to say that you are doing a great job. In Mumbai, there is no blog which tracks the regional press ie. the Marathi press. You seem to be successfully tracking the Telugu media as well as the English press. In that sense, you are unique. Your perspective is quite holistic. Here in Mumbai, we would have liked to have a blog like yours which tracks both the regional as well as the English press. Journalists here are demoralised now that Mediamamu has been forced to become an underground blog and with Mediamalice hacked and shut down due to the efforts of Sourav Majumdar, Shekhar Gupta and rogue elements in the Prime Minister's Office, with help from CERT. Until recently, Mediamamu and Mediamalice had struck terror in the hearts of villian like dirty bosses, managements, PYTs, racketeers and mediocres. Media and journalism students had become avid readers of these blogs even before getting into professional journalism. But several senior and junior mediocres here in Mumbai could not digest the fact that the quality of what appeared in Mediamamu - especially the usage of the English language - was far superior to what was being printed in newspapers. Even trainees working in Hindustan Times (Mumbai edition) agreed that the language used by Mediamamu was far better than what they read in newspapers. It was only a few months ago that they used to open this blog on the office computers, right in front of their bosses. They used to indulge in laughter and animated discussions whenever their bosses were exposed by Mediamamu. Public Relations agencies and corporate communications people were also afraid of Mediamamu. Mediocre and lazy journalists were afraid of taking bylines for press releases after some cases were exposed by Mediamamu. The top most bosses of Hindustan Times Mumbai, were forced to pull up senior bosses and bureau chiefs. For a few months it seemed as if a new dawn seemed certain and we were optimistic of some light at the end of the tunnel. But now, all that has vanished and it is back to the old cynicism, thanks to the misplaced eagerness of our own fellow journalists here to find out who is running Mediamamu and Mediamalice anonymously. Instead of exposing bad journalists and bad journalism, they began to post speculative comments about who could be running Mediamamu and Mediamalice. Some immature idiots even openly started addressing a few suspects who visited the Mumbai Press Club as "Mediamamu" in a mocking way. All these things finally contributed to the fading away of the dissident media blogging scene in Mumbai. Of all these media-ralted blogs, only bullshitpess.blogspot.com from Mumbai continues to be active, along with the New Delhi-based spindianexpress.blogspot.com, which seems to have a pro-RSS slant. Even warfornews.blogspot has not been updated for several days now. So beware! The same thing could happen to you too. Your own journalist fraternity may expose you. Never believe all those posting comments pledging that they will support you. Most journalists are cowards who will not even run to PUCL or PUDR if you are exposed and charged with defamation or violating various provisions of the IT Act. Instead of that, those of your own fraternity may laugh behind your back when you are victimised. Always remember that "Gods and soldiers all adore; but when in trouble never more". Indians, including journalists, are still a feudal and backward society obsessed with confirmity and obedience. They are neither freethinkers nor do they question anything. Please do not misunderstand us. Our intention is not to demoralise you, but to warn you of various dangers. We are merely telling the truth as it is. Most human beings including Indian journalists are very petty minded. They tend to lose sight of the larger picture and indulge in one upmanship. Such small minds with fragile egos and may backstab you. There is no dearth of spoilsports, betrayers and partypoopers without any self-esteem in our profession. We have seen it all in Mumbai and mentioned it to you only because we don't want such a history to repeat itself in Andhra Pradesh either as a tragedy or even a farce. So, all the very best in your noble endeavour. Our hopes, prayers and best wishes are with you always.

Awesome Telugu man.

Atishayokti anukokapote nakite upamanalu doraktledu. Fluidity of the language is as good as I can think of.
Content is too good.
Sama Dana Beda Dandopayalu upayoginchina Ramoji Rao (asale karya sadakudu, Nitya shramikudu (shramanu dochadamulo matarame sumi)) mimmalni debbateeyalani chustuntadu. Tasamat jagratta. Meekosam kakunna patakulakosamaina suma.

ALL THE BEST.

Did you read Vaartha article today?
Ramoji knew that he violated RBI norms. For the last ten years RBI was trying to tell him about his Illegal activity.
Read Bhoomi. It says All India Kamma Sangham under the leadership of Bootu Omkar resolved that no action to be initiated on Ramiji because he is a Kamma. For me is the height of backwardness.

please remember this
One person is definitely stronger than a governament or a whole community. If some thing needs to be done through governament it is not done properly.if a private person wants to do some thing with free spirit it happens more effectively than the whole governament. That is the spirit of free enterprise.

It's not long ago, Ramoji carried articles and editorials opposing FDI in media.

http://www.atimes.com/atimes/South_Asia/FE06Df03.htm

Now he is taking the FDI route (26% is only allowed) to sell his enterprise, what a shame? what a double standard?

vikram,

let me congratulate you for having made ramoji to reply to your post using his editorial slot. what a stoop!!!!! ramoji never seems to realise that people are wise enough to understand his designs of using media for himself. he can do and undo anything. but remember 'not everytime'! using 'eenadu' to promote his 'margadarsi', using 'eenadu' to refuse chit payments to customers and insisting on them for fixed deposits. using 'eenadu and etv' to mount pressure on every co-op bank in the state to close its activity or become sick so 'margadarsi' gets the better slot in the peoples' savings. take a look at the number of chitfund firms, co-op banks, incluidng the DCCBs and APCOB, that were closed or become sick during the last 10 years. 'eenadu' flashed several stories on those institutions --- only to keep his margadarsi remain alone -- the only and compulsory option for people to keep their hard earned small savings. take a look at his eenadu's attack on micro finance institutions, which have been lending and thus taking away small savings from people. he wants 'eenadu' alone as newspaper, 'etv' alone as newschannel, 'margadarsi' alone as financial firm, 'rfc' alone as entertainment spot, 'kamma desam' alone as political party. he wrote on page 1 of eenadu about his honesty and peoples' confidence in him, repeated the statements for four days on etv screen. and his honesty still hangs on both sides of the margadarsi gates. trying to plead with people to trust him!!!!
hey... take a look into his eyes.... they just remind us of the wolf...
hey 'hindu' ram... look at your friend here man! you are giving a chance to the people to know what you are and who you are. it also gives us to know your intensions and interests. 'freedom of press' for what? freedom to loot people? freedom to use the space to promote self?

You know why the chief of General Desk in Eenadu, the Great Nadendla Rahul Kumar, has taken up the mantle to oppose YSR government? Becoz, the CM refused to allocate a house to his wife, a government employee, at posh IAS officers quarters in Punjagutta. Mr Rahul, who once covered Congress beat, used all his influence even with K V P Ramachandra Rao but did not succeed in getting the plush government accomodation for his wife, who is a junior clerck.

When is SKYLAB going to fall on Ramaji, which he used effectively to increase the circulation of his yellow news paper once up on a time? He should now realize that he can not build castles on sombody's grave. It is good for him to surrender for his mistakes instead of becoming adamant (Mekapothu Gambheeryam).

Your's Article regarding "fear of retrenchment in EENADU" became true. Ramoji himself agreed that he is going to sell it's stake to a MNC. Now Each and EVeryone in EENADU are fear of Retrenchment. They are spending sleepless nights. Poor Journalists! they can't do anything. God only save from this "ONLY ONE".

Dear Vikram,

Kindly consider the fact that media in India devoid of "objective point of view".

I'd propose a Media Rating Service similar to CRISIL in financial industry.

The Media Rating Service should rate media in order to stop propagating "sarcasm and hypocrisy" in the society.

Kindly poll your opinion here http://reddit.com/goto?id=vwqa

Sincerely,
Jawahar Mundlapati

The main problem india had ever since independence is congress party and congress governament.Which nurtured corruption and supports curruption.Starting from nehru who had stupid semi-communist ideas which damaged the country.Gandhism is useless for practical aspect.I wish we had independence by violence instead of nonviolence. We would have been a better country.

My point is we need some body strong like ramoji to fight against congress. He might be a crook. But we do need crooks to mount a fight.Crooks are always better fighters than some body who is meek and who doesnt have any energy.
I dont understand why nobody is upset about andhra bhoomi or vaartha which are overtly congress supporters.Dont hate ramoji just because he belongs to a particular caste.
In indian society it is (unfortunately) acceptable to support other members in same caste.YSR is helping his reddy folk.Brahmins helping their people.Lallo is helping yadavs.

Whats wrong if Ramoji helps his caste members.Dont be completely blind.
Unless this this thinking changes we dont improove.I think we should have reservations only for people who marry intercaste, so that caste system dissolves slowly.

The people of Andhra Pradesh know the honesty and integrity of Ramoji Rao. We have no fear and are not in panic to rush to his 'Margadarsi' offices to get back our deposits. Because nothing will happen. Remember "the poor man with a goat and four thieves" story? People of this state are poor and Ramoji dones the four thieves roles to make everyone believe what he says, what he shows and what he writes is true! Had he ever answered the Undavalli's question? (Why did you collect deposits from people when you have no authorisation from RBI?) Did he ever answered the questions raised by others on his financial strengths? (Why did he close Newstime if he is so successful?)Now, why is he trying to sell parts of his assets to an MNC and is trying to blame people for spoiling his deal with the MNC? Is it not a double talk? Ramoji, you can fool a few for all the time; all for some time; but can't fool all the people for all the time. Remember, people are not ready to buy your lies. 2007 will show you the worst of your life. Good luck to you man... the mafia don.
